Myatt Snider’s Big Surprise

In all of racing, there is truly no driver like Myatt Snider. Known as an ambitious driver on the track with a larger-than-life personality off track, Myatt Snider has gained the love and respect of both fans and competitors alike. However, as the 2022 season came to a close, it remained in question where Snider would end up for 2023. As the off-season sped by, and more and more driver announcements came out, fans began to worry that he might not have a ride for the following season. But in true Myatt Snider fashion, he waited until the last second – less than two weeks shy of the start of the season-  to spring the good news on us.

It was announced today by Myatt Snider that he will compete part-time for Joe Gibbs Racing driving the #19 Toyota Supra in the Xfinity Series. Myatt is currently set to run a six-race schedule, starting with the season opener at Daytona. The rest of his schedule includes Portland, where he just fell short of winning last season, the Charlotte Roval, the second Las Vegas race, the second Martinsville race, and the Phoenix season finale. Tree Top Inc. will return to the Xfinity Series, to sponsor Myatt for these six races.

Snider seems to view his joining Joe Gibbs Racing as a homecoming, as he worked for the team while still a high school student. He also finds himself reuniting with Jason Ratcliff, with whom he worked on the #20 team, and who will survive as the crew chief for Myatt across his six-race schedule.

With a personality like his, it’s not shocking Myatt wanted to keep us on the edge of our seats. And in a career marked by many ups and downs, this news seems to be a highlight for Snider in his career thus far. I wish Myatt nothing but success – but we all know that with an opportunity like this, a success is just what he will be.
