Tyler Reddick Snatches Fifth Win of 2026 in Kansas OT Thriller

Tyler Reddick prevailed on an overtime restart and surged past Kyle Larson in the final corners to win the AdventHealth 400 at Kansas Speedway on Sunday (April 19).

It’s Reddick’s fifth win of the 2026 NASCAR Cup Series season in just the ninth race of the year.

”Just really blessed with the late caution,” Reddick told FOX Sports post-race. “Obviously had a run on the [No.] 5, and I was just shocked I was able to get to his inside there.”

The overtime restart came after the lone caution for cause on the day flew just moments before then-leader Denny Hamlin took the white flag. Cody Ware spun off of turn four, setting up an overtime restart.

Hamlin, who led a race-high 131 laps, was not happy with Ware post-race.

“Cody Ware, six laps down, wrecking,” Hamlin told FOX Sports after the race. “I don’t know. Add it up.”

Despite losing as a driver, Hamlin still went to victory lane as an owner along with Michael Jordan, who was yet again present for a Reddick win.

”I’m racing against Denny,” Jordan told FOX Sports after the race. “I really wanted to beat him because I know we’re gonna talk a lot of trash a little bit later. It was a good race. … This kid is on fire, I don’t even know what to say. I don’t know if I can cool him down. He’s unbelievable.”

Prior to the caution, Hamlin and Reddick had an incredible battle for the win, with Reddick erasing a three-second gap to take the lead, only to hit the wall and complain of fuel issues, allowing Hamlin to take the lead back. It seemed like Reddick had a chance to challenge the No. 11 again, but then Ware spun and reset the field.

Reddick, despite starting on pole, led just 10 laps all day. Larson finished second after leading 78 laps. Chase Briscoe finished third while Hamlin had to settle for fourth. Reddick’s teammate Bubba Wallace rounded out the top five.

Up until Ware’s spin, the race had gone caution-free aside from the stage breaks. Hamlin sailed to the stage one victory while Larson picked up the stage two win.

All 37 cars finished the race within six laps of each other.

Next up for the NASCAR Cup Series is a trip to Alabama for a date with the biggest track on the schedule, Talladega Superspeedway. Coverage for the Jack Link’s 500 is set to begin at approximately 3 p.m. ET on Sunday, April 26. FOX will carry television coverage (check your local listings) while Motor Racing Network and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio, Channel 90 will carry radio broadcast coverage.
