Bowman out with injury, Berry to sub for 3-4 weeks

After a sprint car crash at 34 Raceway on the 25th of April, Hendrick Motorsports’ Alex Bowman will miss out on the upcoming race at Dover Motor Speedway due to a fractured vertebrae.

Josh Berry, who had been subbing for Chase Elliott since the second round of the season due to his broken leg, will step back into a Next Gen car after taking 2 weeks out. Berry recorded his career best cup series finish after taking a 2nd at Richmond Raceway to teammate Kyle Larson.

According to a statement released by Hendrick Motorsport, Bowman will be out for 3-4 weeks. Meaning that he misses out on Dover, Kansas, Darlington and potentially the all-star race at North Wilkesboro.

Bowman previously missed out on 5 races towards the end of the 2022 season due to a concussion he suffered at Texas Motor Speedway.
