Hendrick hit with penalties…again

Just over a week after the National Motorsports Appeals Panel overturned the Phoenix louvers penalty, Hendrick motorsports has been hit with another penalty.

After last weekend’s race at Richmond Raceway, the #24 of William Byron and #48 of Alex Bowman were randomly selected to go to the R&D center.

The report was released on Thursday, both teams were found to have a greenhouse violation and were both assessed with L1 penalties. Both teams will be docked 60 points and the interim crew chiefs will be suspended for two races, starting at Martinsville.

Former points leader Alex Bowman drops down to 7th and William Byron now sits at 14th. Ross Chastain takes over the point lead.
