How is this guy not in cup yet? Heim earns 25th truck win at the Rock

Corey Heim dominated all day at Rockingham Speedway, again proving how much he deserves a seat at the table on sundays.

Heim set his personal-best for laps led with 178, and swept the first two stages for the 13th time in his career.

Despite dominating the race, Heim had to fight off teammate Kaden Honeycutt on the final lap to escape with his second truck win of the season.

Although Heim won the championship last year, piloting the no.11 truck his teammate almost took to victory today, he will not be running it back this year, as he explores part-time opportunities.

For Honeycutt, the Texas native is still in search of his first win, but was gracious in defeat to his champion teammate.

As Heim’s tires wore and his steering broke down, Honeycutt was able to take the lead entering the final lap but Heim propelled ahead in the final corner and crossed the line only 0.090 seconds ahead of his teammate.

Front Row Motorsports’ Layne Riggs finished in third, Stewart Friesen took fourth and Grant Enfinger rounded out the top five. The no.38 truck of Zane Smith was disqualified post-race for failing to meet rear body-height qualifications.

The Truck series circus will pull in to Bristol Motor Speedway next weekend.
