CRC Brakleen 150: Last lap pass gives KBM their 100th win

A last lap pass on Corey Heim allows Kyle Busch to win the 100th career race for Kyle Busch Motorsports. 

Two rookie drivers lined up on the front row, Nick Sanchez and Jake Garcia led the field into turn 1, with Sanchez emerging in first place. 

The race would be thrown under caution soon after for the #15 of Tanner Gray getting loose in turn 1 and colliding with the inside wall, putting him out of the race. 

Lap 9 saw the field restart with Sanchez and Zane Smith up front, with Smith taking the lead by the end of the lap. Smith would cruise ahead and win the first stage.

Zane Smith and Kyle Busch lined up out front, with Busch taking the lead into the first turn. 

On lap 28, Busch would pit, handing the lead over to Smith, who swept the stages.

Stage 3 began with 25 to go, Corey Heim led the field into turn 1. 

With 15 to go, the caution would fly again for the front row starters of Sanchez and Garcia spinning in turn 1, Garcia’s truck would be heavily damaged, putting him out of the race. 

On the ensuing restart, a huge crash would collect 7 cars and put the race under a red flag. Hocevar in the #42 would move up on the #75 and #52, sending both of them spinning and collecting the field behind them, including the #38 of Smith. The race would be red flagged for cleanup.

The race resumed with 5 to go, Heim took the lead with Busch close behind. Busch would make several attempts for the lead in turn 1 as the laps wound down. With 1 to go, Busch setup Heim in turn 1, and dove to the inside in the tunnel turn, snatching the lead away from Heim. Busch would cruise away for the 100th win for Kyle Busch Motorsports.

Corey Heim took 2nd place with Taylor Gray in 3rd, Christopher Bell in 4th and Grant Enfinger rounding out the top 5.
