It was announced on Thursday that 2019 Coke Zero 400 winner Justin Haley has signed a multi-year contract to drive for Rick Ware Racing, starting in 2024.
The 24 year old will be driving a Ford Mustang for the full cup series season, with the number and sponsors to be announced at a later date. Haley makes the move after a 4 year stay in the Kaulig Racing stable, yielding 4 Xfinity series wins and a 2nd place at the Chicago Street Race earlier this year.
With the team downsizing from 4 cars to 2 in recent years, RWR has seen some level of performance increase. With J. J. Yeley behind the wheel, the #15 car has been taken to the team’s first top 10 of the year at Atlanta and a 3rd place starting spot at the Bristol Dirt Race. This all comes off the heels of an alliance between RWR and the rising RFK team, where many have theorized Haley will end up as a result of this deal.
Haley’s departure has opened up speculation as to who will be replacing the Indiana driver full-time in the #31 next year. Some names that have been thrown around include Kaulig’s Xfinity ace Chandler Smith and Supercars champion Shane Van Gisbergen.
