Kyle Busch picked up his 63rd career victory at Worldwide Technology Raceway. It was his third win of the season.
In race marred by lightning holds, brake failures and power outages, Busch won the first stage and lead for a race high 121 of 243 laps. He held off second place Denny Hamlin after a late restart. Rounding out the top 5 we’re Joey Logano, Kyle Larson and Martin Truex Jr.
Corey Lajoie, who replaced the suspended Chase Elliott, finished 21st. Carson Hocevar, who drove the 7 in place of Lajoie, finished in 36th after a brake failure sent the car careening into the outside wall.
Next up for the Cup Series is a trip to the road course in Sonoma.
