Skeeter’s NASCAR Power Rankings: All-Star Week

  1. William Byron: Three wins on the year, fifth in points, last weeks winner, and riding a streak of four consecutive top-10’s Byron is showing that he’s a bonafide title contender. I had my doubts about whether he was for real during his first few seasons, but his last two seasons have quelled any concerns I had – he’s the real deal.
  2. Kyle Larson: Some bad luck and aggressive competitors have distracted from how solid Larson has been this year. With two wins on the year, and a few near misses on more than that, Larson continues to provide backing to arguments for him being the most talented driver in modern NASCAR.
  3. Ross Chastain: Chastain is the current points leader and in the mix for wins seemingly every week, but… man, he just can’t get out of his own way. Others have said it, but I’ll go on the record to echo the sentiment here – Ross Chastain will never win a championship driving like this. His competitors simply won’t allow it.
  4. Christopher Bell: Locked in to the playoffs by virtue of his Bristol win, Bell has had about the best start to a season of his career with eight top-10’s through the first 13 races.
  5. Kevin Harvick: Third in points despite not yet having a win, Kevin Harvick has been had an incredibly consistent start to his final season with six top-10’s and only one finish worse than 21st on the year. Feels like just a matter of time before he breaks through and finds victory lane again.
